X-Factor – [WemmyMo]

WemmyMo is and has been one of my favorite rappers from Chicago for a minute now, and the Uptown native blessed us a couple of days back with a new offering called “X-Factor”. Right from the jump, I knew that this one was going to be special, once I heard that soulful instrumental, with Wemmy’s history of what he usually does to these types of beats, I had a good feeling. Sure enough, that feeling was proved right, as Wemmy delivered what I would consider one of his best songs to date. Wemmy has been improving as a pure rapper, match that with his ability to jump from bar to bar, switching cadences or the pace at will, he’s on a good trajectory. Tip Toe – [WemmyMo]

Uptown’s very own WemmyMo blessed us this past week with a new visual to his latest track, “Tip Toe”. I personally have been patiently waiting to see how the visual would do this creative track justice, and I was not let down in the slightest bit. The beat change and flow switch up was perfectly visualized with the mood shift between those shots, this kept me on the edge of my seat. To add to that, the energy WemmyMo produces tied with the video’s creativity made me put this one on repeat with a head bop every time it played.  I am eager to see what Wemmy has in store for us for the rest of 2021, I predict that it will be a huge year for him, but for now, just watch this new visual below. Tip Toe – [Wemmymo]

It’s been a minute since we have received some new material from the Uptown legend Wemmymo, but all of that nonsense came to an end today as he released a new record titled “Tip Toe”. I have told Wemmy time and time again that I believe that he shines best when he rhymes over soulful production, however, he does tend to snap over hard-hitting instrumentals just like the one here handled by DJ Balor. Wemmymo gave us two minutes straight of nothing but straight bars, although an awesome beat switch up toward the middle of the song forced him to change his flow a bit to a more melodic approach. It’s great to see Wemmy finishing the year out strong, I am sure that this momentum will lead directly into 2021, which will prove to be a pivotal year for Wem in his career. A Conversation With WemmyMo:

When I first discovered WemmyMo’s music, it was a refreshing change of pace compared to a majority of what I was hearing, he brought an energetic + youthful approach to his music that was raw but you could see the potential that he possessed. I was extremely impressed when I first listened to Wemmy’s debut project Bittersweet, it was a sensational body of work that had plenty of ear-pleasing jams on it, which led me to eventually meeting him not so long after + I have been rooting for him ever since. Wemmy is still very young, so he has a ton of time to continue to grow + develop his sound, but in some years I could easily see him being one of the hottest artists in Chicago. Wemmy is well on his way to that already though, so I wanted to bring him by the LL office for a new ‘Conversation With’ segment, read/watch the interview & make sure you follow Wemmy on social media below! A Conversation With Ausar

I have been closely covering the Chicago music scene for just about six years now, and I have had the pleasure of meeting plenty of amazing creatives over the years, but someone who I have been following for a handful of years now is Ausar. The first time that I interviewed Ausar was way back in the fall of 2016, and watching him grow as a person + as an artist since that point has been amazing, to say the least. I wanted to bring Ausar through the new LL office to catch up & record our second interview nearly four years later, so back in June he came by, and today I am ecstatic to finally be releasing the interview! We spoke about several topics such as his upcoming music releases, to performing on Rhythm + Flow, and everything between now & our last conversation. You can read/watch the new interview below, and while you’re at it, listen to some of his music on Spotify! Moppas & Choppas – [WemmyMo] x [D2X]

Uptown Chicago based artist WemmyMo has become a favorite of ours here at Lyrical Lemonade over the past couple of years, and today he is back on our lemon filled pages with his brand new music video for “Moppas & Choppas” featuring D2X. I am very familiar with Wemmy’s catalog of music, but I don’t believe I’ve ever heard him create a song that’s as hard-hitting + menacing as this joint. It finds Wemmy kicking one of the hardest verses that I have heard from him to date, and it’s followed up by a solid verse from D2X who keeps that same energy. Watch this brand new music video below and if you like what you see then make sure to keep an eye out for our upcoming interview with Wemmy that drops in a few weeks! Need It All – [Wemmymo]

I warned you last week that the young Chicago kid Wemmymo would be right back on our site with more content, and sure enough here he is, back with brand new track titled “Need It All”. This one hit a little bit different for me because Wemmymo decided to jump on an extremely soulful instrumental, some of my favorite songs from him in the past have been on top of these type of beats, so it just felt right. Wemmy complimented this amazing instrumental with some even better rhymes, changing up his flows at times but keeping up the pace at the same time, this song has a ton of replay value in my opinion so be ready to run this back at least a handful of times. Shout out to the youngin Wemmy man, he is continuing to get better and better, only leaving me more excited to hear his next full-length project. Stream this amazing new tune below! Big Big B’s – [Wemmymo]

Wemmymo has had his foot on our necks with the content lately, and yesterday his latest release came in the form of a brand new music video for “Big Big B’s”. Wemmymo has never been shy of releasing both high tempo music and visuals alike, and this new release is the perfect representation of just that, it finds the young bull Wemmy running around the city everywhere from notable streets in Lincoln Park & downtown to dope art galleries all while accompanied by his homies. Wemmy has been releasing a bunch of music over the past few weeks and it doesn’t look like he is slowing down, be prepared for more content from the kid soon. Take a few minutes of your time to get familiar with one of Chicago’s rising talents, and if you enjoy the song/video then be sure to give him a follow on Twitter here! Yo Mama Bad Bad – [Wemmymo]

Wemmymo embodies exactly what most young artists are; full of energy + emotion, honest, witty, experimental and straight-up hilarious with some of their ideas. This is the case with young Wemmy’s latest record titled “Yo Mama Bad Bad”, and just from glancing at the title I am sure you can tell what this one is about, it’s a funny ode to some of his homies moms who are in fact, “bad bad”. This record is essentially two minutes of Wemmy rapping playfully about the trials & tribulations he goes through when he is in one of these situations, and he ends it off with one of his classic skits that are sure to make you laugh. This new release is the latest offering of Wemmy’s new series he calls ‘Mo-Music Mondays”, so let this tune hold you over for the next seven days until his next drop, and follow Wemmymo on Twitter here to keep up with his future releases. produced by LV3

Realistic Fiction – [Wemmymo]

Wemmymo is a talented emcee who resides in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, and he has slowly but surely become a regular on our lemon filled pages, and today he is finding himself back on our platform with the release of his latest tune titled “Realistic Fiction”. This is the first release of Wemmymo’s ‘Mo Music Mondays’ campaign that he will be running throughout the rest of the month where he will be blessing his growing fan base with a new track at the start of every week, and if you ask me this record was a great place to start, it was a hot offering that only leaves me hungry for more. You will find Wemmy getting off an impressive verse on this song along with a fire hook, my only complaint about this song is it’s too short, but I have to admit it’s a smart move because it left me with no choice but to run back the song over and over again.
