Just Say Thank You – [Supa Bwe]

Ladies and gentleman, the moment that we have been waiting for is finally upon us, as Chicago superstar Supa Bwe just released his highly anticipated project titled “Just Say Thank You”. This is a huge moment for Supa Bwe is his career, he has been building up his name and sound slowly but surely for years now, and it seems as if all of that hard work is really about to paying off in a big way. The features on this project come from the likes of Chance The Rapper, Duffle Bag Buru, Rexx Life Raj and last but certainly not least, Dounia. I enjoyed every single one of the seven tracks that were provided on this tape, but if I had to pick my favorite I would have to say it’s either “Rememory” featuring Chance or “BOOM BOOM BOOM” featuring Duffle Bag Buru. Of course the shining factor of this entire project was Supa himself, he created some of the best music of his entire life and included it on this masterpiece, congratulations on the release to Supa from all of us here at Lyrical Lemonade, we are proud of you. When we look back on the year of 2019 …

Anything – [Koran Streets] ft. [Rexx Life Raj]

In 2018, Berkeley artist Koran Streets proved his worth as one of rap’s most honest and authentic storytellers. Now, soaring off of the buzz that last year garnered, Streets is back to push his career even further in 2019, keeping the win streak alive today with a brand new release, “Anything,” featuring Rexx Life Raj. Acting as the first single off of Streets’ latest EP, BGS-223, this offering delves into the West Coast flair that characterizes the budding talent’s style, emphasizing this sound with a silky smooth hook from Rexx Life. Resulting from the contrast between the two artists’ vocals is a perfect balance of cadence and personality in the song, allowing the street-bred charisma to take over as a driving factor of the appeal in Streets’ latest. With this, only adding a dimension to the captivating production from Lil Rece here, the accompanying visuals for “Anything” follow Streets and Rexx Life Raj around an electrifying display of dancing, cars, and overall lively energy. The pairing of these two talents was certainly meant to be, and both the song and music video here can attest. Be sure to show some love and check out Koran Streets’ brand new release below! Producer Spotlight-[YOG$]

When you hear a great song, there are so many key pieces that contribute to its success. Everyone experiences music differently, but when it comes down to it, I think it’s extremely important to give credit to the stellar aspects that make a song what it is.  As a music connoisseur, the first thing I pay attention to when listening to a song is the production. Behind every dope track and catchy hook is a producer who makes it all come together in a concise manor. That said, for todays’ fresh find, I want to shine the spotlight on a producer who has all of the talent to be a star in this industry. When Grant Yarber was a college student at the highly esteemed University of Michigan, he knew that the only thing he wanted to do was music. During lectures, instead of taking notes, Grant would be in the back of the class refining his beats and sending a myriad of emails to industry professionals under the name of YOG$. After some time, the young producer started receiving responses from artists who liked his work and from there, the rest is history. I stumbled upon YOG$ after one …

Never Change – [Rexx Life Raj]

With no exaggeration or hyperbole cap, Rexx Life Raj is one of my favorite artists right now. Always thoughtful and introspective his lyrics are filled with life lessons. Combined with his smooth, rich vocals, he has such a refreshing, engaging sound. If you are new to Raj, you came in at the perfect time because his latest visually-assisted offering “Never Change” serves the perfect introduction. Though currently on a nationwide tour with Bas, The Bay Area native takes us on a tour of Europe with some gorgeous shots of Berlin and London as the backdrop for the Marco Alexander directed visuals. As Raj explains in the song, the exotic setting is,  “Not on some look at me shit but so you can feel it/ so you can know this shit hella close if you keep building.” It’s just one of the many gems he drops in an effort that, despite it’s cool, mellow ambiance, will give you some real motivation. “Never Change” is attached to anything larger at the moment, but check out his 2018 EP California Poppy, for some more inspiration and bounce.

Long Way – [Rexx Life Raj]

With his forthcoming ‘California Poppy’ EP due out at the end of this month, Rexx Life Raj has dropped the first single and music video from his project. “Long Way” showcases the Bay Area native paying homage to his home, as he parades around his streets surrounded by Golden State Warriors fans. With wildfires continuing to intensify in California, this video feels especially timely and offers a reminder of strength in the Bay Area community. The track itself takes on a celebratory tone, as Rexx stays loyal to his roots and clarifies that he’ll never switch up. His easygoing demeanor comes through in his verses, and he ties the track together with a melodic hook that floats atop atmospheric production. Peep the video for “Long Way” below, and look out for ‘California Poppy’ out November 30:

Flightman – [Rexx Life Raj] Ft. [Kembe X]

Rexx Life Raj has been featured on our platform many times in the past and so has Chicago’s own Kembe X, so you could already assume how eager I was to listen when I just this release. Within the first thirty seconds I was fully in tune with the groovy melody they provided, before Rexx came through & rapped his ass off for a minute & a half straight. This led perfectly into the stellar guest feature from Lyrical Lemonade favorite Kembe X, who never disappoints and continued that trend here. The Otherside – [Rexx Life Raj]
