Before Us – [BIGBABYGUCCI]

If you’ve been following my writing at all over the past couple of years, it shouldn’t come as a surprise at all that I’m a massive fan of BIGBABYGUCCI. He’s simply one of the best in the underground, and I’d even consider him an originator without a second thought because, without him, so many of these new up-and-comers wouldn’t have the guidance they need to truly make a statement in music. While I’m still obsessed with his latest project 1 Night I Took Acid and I listen to it at least a few times per week, I’m also just pumped to see he’s continuing the fun with some awesome music videos. Luckily, one of my favorite songs off the album “Before Us” just received a visual treatment with a little help from Reel Bump who directs most of GUCCI’s videos, so I knew it was going to be a banger regardless. As things start up, GUCCI and his girl are having fun taking some Polaroid pictures inside of a very vibrant, colorful room full of different shapes and patterns that bring us back to the ’70s or ’80s. After this, some introductory credits start up playing off of the theme …

Dinero – [BIGBABYGUCCI]

It seems like recently more than ever, I’ve been writing about all of BIGBABYGUCCI’s latest releases, but they’re just honestly too good for me to pass up. While I’ve been a fan of his for a while, I feel like he is just stepping his game up more than ever recently. When he dropped 1 Night I Took Acid just a few weeks ago, I was blown away at how insanely good it was, and it has been in my constant rotation ever since. While it’s tough. For me to pick a favorite song, I have to say that one record I keep going back to is “Dinero”, so when I saw he teamed up with Reel Bump once again to shoot another movie, I had no choice but to tune in. As it begins, we are introduced to a reoccurring character that is played by GUCCI wearing a sharp suit and a ski mask, which he proceeds to wear during his various bank heists. While this character walks around the Hollywood walk of fame with his bag of cash slung over his shoulder without a care in the world, more normalized shots are used throughout. These shots show the …

New Check – [Better Temperatures] ft. [BIGBABYGUCCI] [Austin Skinner] [30ROCK]

Not very long ago at all, BIGBABYGUCCI announced his own independent label that was going to be known as Better Temperatures. While it seemed like he was already considered a legend in the underground, I respected the fact that he wanted to take others under his wing and help promising up and comers out as well. Considering I was already a big Austin Skinner fan, when I saw his addition to the group, I was beyond stoked, and although 30ROCK was a new name, I’ve grown quite the admiration for his skills ever since tuning into all of BT’s music since their start. When I first heard their song “New Check” a couple of months ago, I was all in. This was the label’s first record that they had put out together, and not only was the beat incredible, but it was also just amazing to see how well all three artists worked together as their chemistry was obvious and marvelous. Obviously, I’m still craving new music, but I was beyond excited to see that the dynamic trio decided to team back up for their first official music video as a group, recruiting Reel Bump to shoot this flick for …

For Sale – [BIGBABYGUCCI]

BIGBABYGUCCI is one of the most prolific underground legends in all of Rap music, and that might be an understatement. His work ethic is nothing short of exhausting considering all the wonderful music he has put out throughout his tenure in the industry, and I still believe that he doesn’t get nearly the amount of credit he deserves after being a trendsetter and a tastemaker in music for the better half of a decade. To ring in the new year, luckily, he released a brand-new song entitled “For Sale” as well as a music video to accompany it. The song itself is produced by Mikemadeahitter, and his name speaks for itself with this one after hearing the remarkable instrumental. Incorporating some deep basslines, bright and mystifying keys, and some clattering drums, Mike brought an unbelievable foundation to life for Gucci, setting him up for success before even spitting a single word. When he does enter into the ring for this Jazzy offering, his demeanor is as nonchalant and just straight-up cool as can be, unsurprisingly. During the hook, he just casually allows unphased words and melodies to leak out of his mouth which ultimately leads to such an addictive, catchy …

Get Back – [BIGBABYGUCCI]

BIGBABYGUCCI has been in the North Carolina music scene for quite some time now and he’s been making waves ever since his introduction. Although he might still technically be an underground icon, he’s an icon nonetheless and he has the respect of not only the rest of the North Carolina scene but the majority of the music world in general. While I still believe with all my heart that he deserves way more credit than he receives, he keeps his eye on the prize and doesn’t let these things affect him because he knows how great his music is and his true fans will ride with him throughout his entire journey. His most recent release comes in the form of a music video for his song “Get Back” which dropped almost exactly a year ago along with the rest of a project called Send Help. I was a bit surprised to see a music video off of this project considering he has dropped a multitude of other music throughout this window of time, but I’m excited regardless. Fish, a frequent collaborator of GUCCI’s, produced this hit utilizing a vocal clip of some sort to introduce the track prior to light, …

Tales from the Cornerstore – [BigBabyGucci]

In all honesty, I had heard the name BigBabyGucci before seeing his new video but had never really listened to anything from the North Carolina artist. Admittedly, I was sleeping on one of the most exciting upcoming talents in the game right now. His new visuals for the hard-hitting track “Tales from the Cornerstore” are infectious, to say the least, shedding light on the energy that BigBabyGucci brings to the mic with his charismatic deliveries on a consistent basis. Shot/edited by @ReelBump and produced by @6Silky, the music video for this one bring fans into their local cornerstore, looking at the variety of situations that go on in a place of such importance in every neighborhood and overall enhancing the vibe created by such a catchy song. Don’t sleep like I did, watch “Tales from the Cornerstore” below.

Crime – [BigBabyGucci]
