DAMN WELL – [Xavier Wulf] & [Quintin Lamb]

Late last year, Xavier Wulf teamed up with hitmaking phenomenon Quintin Lamb to create their collaborative project RUDE DOG together, and the results were exactly how you’d expect them to be. With a mixture of ruthless bars, assaulting lyrics, thumping instrumentals, and aggressive deliveries, this was a project that I think went much more under the radar than it ever should have, but real fans know exactly what everyone else is missing out on. It honestly doesn’t seem like it came out that long ago considering I still revisit it quite frequently and it holds up magnificently, making it an album that I don’t see myself forgetting about anytime soon. Luckily, they decided to keep their momentum going by revisiting one of my favorite cuts off of the project entitled “DAMN WELL” to shoot an awesome new music video. While they don’t get too crazy with the scenery or using different shots, it does everything it needed to do and more, so I’m happy with the end result. The majority of the time, X is just hanging out next to one of his cars inside what seems to be a portal of lights that almost make it look as if …

READ EM AND WEEP – [Xavier Wulf] & [Quintin Lamb]

Whether you’re heavily into the underground Rap scene or not, Xavier Wulf shouldn’t be an unfamiliar name whatsoever. He has been making waves in music for the better part of a decade and it’s not even slightly a stretch so say that he has paved the way for most rappers coming up through the internet age of music to be themselves and test out various different styles even if it’s not what most average people would accept or find themselves listening to. Just at the end of last year on Christmas of all days, Xavier decided to team up with his good friend and frequent collaborator Quintin Lamb, an unbelievable producer that has provided a perfect foundation for X numerous times in the past. Once they got in the studio, they brought their project Rude Dog to life which ended up being a 12 song, 26-minute-long effort that is full of hostility, aggression, and all-out ruthlessness in the best possible ways. The penultimate song “READ EM AND WEEP” was definitely an early favorite of mine after just one run-through of the project, and I couldn’t have been more stoked to find out late last night that X and Q decided …

Trophy Boyz – [Xavier Wulf]

After getting off to a hot start at the beginning of the year, Xavier Wulf has somewhat calmed down and let the dust settle a bit. There’s nothing wrong with that in the slightest, though, because ever since he started blazing a trail that countless other artists have followed within the underground so many years ago, he has been one of the most consistent rappers producing some of the highest output in the entire industry. His consistency was always noticeable of course, but what was even more perceptible was the fact that throughout all of his releases, he consistently gave us some of the most masterful, inventive, and impressive songs to ever come out of the underground. His brief hiatus has luckily come to an end with the release of his song “Trophy Boyz”, and it’s yet again another banger that is sure to turn any function up to the max. Quintin Lamb produced this hit, and he starts it out with some resounding synths paired with crisp, intense hats and claps alongside some piercing 808s that couple seamlessly with Xavier’s unapologetically sinister flow. A sound bite from Seth MacFarlane plays from one of his shows and although I’m pretty …
