Lyrical Lemonade Presents: The Abby Jasmine Q&A

Abby Jasmine is one of the most talented new upcoming artists in the game, I recently got the chance to meet her while speaking on a panel at SXSW a couple of weeks ago, and then when she was in Chicago the other day for a concert with T-Pain I thought why not bring her through our office for an interview for the website? One thing about Abby that stands out is her unbelievable charisma and her stage presence when performing, she appears like an experienced veteran although she is just only twenty years old, which is exactly why she is touring the country on with the OG T-Pain at this very moment. That crazy part is that I haven’t even mentioned her stellar vocal abilities and her crafty song making ability, and impressive catalog she has created up to this point. On top of all of this she has an amazing team backing her over at Cinematic, so the sky is truly the limit for this young superstar. I am extremely excited to see where she goes from here but I expect nothing but the best for her, so go ahead and get in tune with the New York native by learning …

Thank You FATHER – [Dane Caston]

Dane Caston is a creative that I got the chance to meet at this years SXSW, and this afternoon he is making his Lyrical Lemonade debut with his brand new EP titled “Thank You FATHER”. I had high expectations coming into this tape just simply based off of the energy that Dane Caston gives off as an individual, and sure enough the Atlanta based artist came through with an outstanding tape that you don’t want to sleep on. Along with this release Dane Caston left us with some words adding: “Thank You FATHER. is a project from my heart to yours! This musical project is intended to make you feel good, no matter what mood you’re in 🙂 If you’re feeling down it will most certainly lift you up and if you’re already up it will elevate you even higher… nonetheless it’s just an undeniable vibe.” Executive Produced by Dane Caston Musically Produced | Mixing & Mastering by Kenneth “Xclusive” Paryo

Nardwuar always has been very active at SXSW and this year certainly wasn’t a light load for him, as he just blessed fans with an awesome new interview featuring Da Baby! Watch Rico Nasty’s brand new interview with Nardwuar

At our Lyrical Lemonade show at SXSW this past week in Austin, Texas there was multiple great performances, but Rico Nasty’s set really blew me away. It was my first time seeing her live and even though I thoroughly enjoyed her music before I witnessed the set, it made me even more of a fan & it made me appreciate her art on another level. While she was out in Texas Rico Nasty connected with the greatest interviewer of all time, Nardwuar, and of course it was an awesome conversation. You will find these two speaking about plenty of things such as Joan Jett, freestyling at age five, her childhood friends, being inspired by her art teacher, seeing nasty stuff at the hospital she worked at, her fashion sense, rocking mohawks, the DMV, Old Bay seasoning, The Smiths, Injury Reserve, how important avatars are and more. Check out this brand new interview below!

Turning The Camera Around: Interviewer Spotlight

Even in the age of social media, where artists can constantly connect and speak to an endless number of fans with the click of a few buttons, the art of the sit-down interview will never be lost or, for that matter, replaced. From the intricate details of Nardwuar interviews to the knowledgeable conversations of Elliott Wilson, these interviews are what adds a dimension of background and personality to the musicians we know and love, and for that, they demand appreciation. Whether explaining obscure childhood stories, the meaning of albums, their influences, or any other plethora of topics, musicians tend to open up when paired with the right interviewer, and the benefit of these conversations is for all to enjoy. Interviews provide fans with background, insight, and nowadays, viral moments, offering up endless entertainment that satisfies casual listeners and stans alike. They allow artists an opportunity to communicate their messages and aspirations on a level far more profound than a simple tweet, and consequently, an opportunity to breathe new life into the music that soundtracks the lives of so many. Bossed Up – [Quin NFN]

I first met Quin NFN last year at SXSW when we met Nardwuar, but I was already familiar with his music at the time, and he is making his way back on Lyrical Lemonade today with his brand new music video for “Bossed Up”. The growth that Quin has had since that point last March has been unreal to say the least, this kid is still putting up numbers on all of his material but especially the music videos, it’s safe to say that he is by far one of the best upcoming emcees out of Texas. Watch this brand new visual below and if you like it be sure to share it with a friend!

In Partnership with Level: Get Featured by Lyrical Lemonade

While we were out at SXSW this past year we ran into a great group of people over at a company called Level and after spending a few days with them one thing was clear to us, they truly care about the artist. The way that they treated each of the artists that they invited to their facilities spoke volumes, they made it a point to go above and beyond to make sure that they were comfortable and had access to anything they needed, so after that trip to Austin I looked more & more into their company. Dumb Sh*t – [Asa2times]

An artist that I got put on to at SXSW that goes by the name of Asa2times is making his Lyrical Lemonade debut this afternoon with his brand new music video for “Dumb Sh*t”. This record itself goes crazy in the headphones or the whip (in large part thanks to the production by Shake & Bake), so it needed a brilliant mind behind the camera who could help bring the feeling of this one to life, and that’s exactly what we got thanks to Ryder Visuals. I really enjoyed this visual and I believe that you will too, check it out for yourself below!
