OOPS – [Larry League]

Out of all the music being released in Atlanta, one of the best groups that deserve way more recognition than they receive is undoubtedly Larry League. The trio made up of SenseiATL, Larry, and Randy make hits nonstop and have been doing so for years. Although they have the backing of their city as well as friendships with some of the biggest artists in the A, they seem to stay lowkey and don’t mind the underground label that they’ll seem to inevitably possess. Their sound is unlike anything coming out of the notorious city, and each member of the group brings a different skill to the table in order to build songs unlike any other artist in Atlanta. Although “OOPS” dropped all the way back in 2016, the crew has had a visual locked away in the vault for some time now and it finally got the chance to see the light of day. As a refresher, the production is built with elevating synths, an uplifting melody, and uncharacteristic percussive elements. Larry takes care of the hook, killing a melodic flow full of robotic autotune with honestly less impressive lyricism than normal, but that comes later in the track so …

Mama I Made It – [Lil Randy]

I apologize because I am a couple of weeks late to this post, but not too long ago rising Chicagoan Lil Randy released an amazing new song + music video for his track called “Mama I Made It”. Much love to the homie Lil Jake for putting me onto this record, it starts off with a video clip of him recording the news while the anchors + a sheriff spoke about an arrest of his that happened in the past (which gave me Shoreline Mafia vibes), before a soulful instrumental (that is a playoff of another artist who we will not name) began to play matched by Lil Randy truly amazing singing voice. This is a straight-up inspiring record, Lil Randy proved to me on this record that he can be a future star within the city, he is well on his way + I am looking forward to what he does moving forward. Please do yourself a favor + watch this brand new music video below! Directed by Rickee Arts

The Big Day – [Chance The Rapper]

Just over two years and a couple months after his last project Coloring Book first debuted, Chicago superstar Chance The Rapper just blessed the world with his highly anticipated new album titled The Big Day. If you are a true Lyrical Lemonade fan who has been supporting since the beginning, then you know that we are all huge fans of Chance The Rapper, he inspired all of us here as well as millions of others around the globe, so you can only picture just how excited I was when I first pressed play on this new album. I was very pleased when I saw the track list had twenty two songs (with a few skits) on it, I took about two and a half hours out of my morning to listen to this a couple of times before I wrote this article, and where should I begin? My initial thoughts were that Chance made it a point to do something different with this project, which I would say he has done with every project, but this project was a little more left field than I expected it would be. That’s a positive thing though, Chance mixed it up and really …
