I’m Alright – [Brasstracks & R.LUM.R]

Producer tandem Brasstracks and budding R&B riser R.LUM.R team up to create a vibrant bouncy single “I’m Alright.” This is the second single from the Brasstracks camp before their forthcoming project ‘Before We Go’. The brass-heavy and funky soul collaboration is the first time that Ivan and Conor have linked up with R.LUM.R. and the outcome didn’t disappoint. Both acts had been familiar and fans of each other since their Soundcloud days which was the starting point of their relationship. Ivan and Conor stated via email “ “I’m Alright” has been about a year and some change in the making – we reached out to R.LUM.R after hearing some of his music on Soundcloud and found out that we were mutual fans of each other. We set up a session in NYC pretty quickly, the studio that we met up at didn’t have the proper equipment (classic) so we just went back to the home studio and made the bulk of it there..” Brasstracks are gearing up for a big 2019 as they are already slotted to headline a 26 city tour with rappers Pell and Kemba, after the release of their EP at the end of January. I’m Not The Devil- [Nancy Amore]

In case you aren’t familiar already, Nancy Amore has been steady producing for some incredibly dope artists including hits with Chicago rapper Vela Seff and wavy ambient tracks with Milwaukee’s Tombo but today he is featured on our LL pages with his singing debut. Over his own signature production, we can hear the Chicago creative croon with emotion, “Never gonna love quite right/That’s alright/I’ll be fine”. The vulnerability of this latest offering makes it a gem and one that is perfect to indulge in during the late hours of the night. Be sure to press play on “I’m Not The Devil” below and follow Nancy Amore on Soundcloud and Twitter (@NANCYAMOREXXX ) to keep up with all his collaborations and hopefully more singing tracks in the near future!

THE REBELUTION PT. 1 – [Rebellious Johann]

I’m a strong believer in judging the music I post on here by true talent and not by hype and views; this project is a perfect example of 100% raw talent. I was introduced to Johann at Chance The Rapper‘s “Open Mike” events. This is an artist who stuck out by far out of hundred of young talented artists. I even recall Savemoney‘s own Joey Purp asking Johann for his soundcloud after being blown away by talent. Johann’s music never disappoints! In this 19 track project, Johann shows his love true hip-hop with remixes of songs from “Alright” by Kendrick Lamar to as far back as A Tribe Called Quest‘s “Electric Relaxation.” Johann does a great job at telling his story and putting a message in all of his songs. Some songs that really stuck out to me off of this tape are “Self” featuring his good friend BZ, “Away From Me,” and my personal favorite “I Want You” just to name a few. Currently Johann is overseas in Germany, but I know he has a lot more great music stored away in his vault of hits. Don’t sleep on this young talented MC and check out his new tape below!

Hate Me Teaser – [Buru]

httpvh:// I heard there’s this new guy on the streets, his name is like Buru Bernie or something?  Oh, I apologize – Buru is what he goes by now, I heard some of his music a while back and I thought he was alright, but nothing too great, but then he dropped that “TUFTU” track and I was like damn, dude’s decent.  After hearing his new track, “HATE ME“, and watching the teaser for the soon-to-be released video, I’m all for this guy. Check back for the full video next week. Check out the teaser above!
