While Chicago has been known as a reputable city in hip-hop for numerous years now, this revered position has not arrived without the constant innovation and hard work of the artists that so faithfully represent the prowess of their home city. It is these artists that we have to credit for this respected reputation, and we here at Lyrical Lemonade try to honor this in every way possible by constantly bringing new Chicago acts into our headlines here on our website. That said, 2018 has been yet another fantastic year for Chicago music, so we went ahead and compiled a list of our “Top 50 Chicago Projects” of the year. This now marks the third year that we have been putting out this list, and we believe that it’s safe to say this year’s list might just be the most solid one from top to bottom that we’ve seen yet. Thank you to our terrific writing staff for all of the hard work they have put in this year, I will be linking their socials below so be sure to contact them about getting featured on the website in the future. If You Let Me – [Christian JaLon]

One of my favorite upcoming artists from the city is Christian JaLon, and last week she blessed her growing fan base with a brand new EP titled “If You Let Me”. This project is a total of seven records in length and it had my upmost attention from the very moment I pressed play on the intro track and I didn’t lose focus until the end of the outro, and in simplest terms I was in awe of this piece of art she put together. There was plenty of highlights for me on this one, but one record in particular that caught my eye was the title track “If You Let Me”, she caught a beautiful melody and paired it with the diea of the song to make for an all around amazing offering. Stream this brand new project below and if you’re rocking with it be sure to let me know in the comments section!

All The Way – [Chai Tulani] Ft. [Aliforthego] & [Christian JaLon]

Chai Tulani is making his Lyrical Lemonade debut today with his brand new music video for “All The Way” featuring Aliforthego and Christian JaLon. This song itself it extremely soothing and filled with energy, you can just hear the hunger is Chai’s rhymes. The visual needed someone special behind the camera, and it’s safe to say that Chai picked the right man for the job because APJ Films brought this one to life with ease. This video starts off with an heartfelt conversation between Chai and his mother in his native language, speaking about how serious he is about his art, the perfection introduction if you ask me. Check out the brand new video for yourself below!

A Look Into Christian JaLon’s upcoming project “Vinyled Love”

Christian JaLon has been putting out some of the best music to come from Chicago over the past couple of years, and right now all of her fans are impatiently waiting for her next project titled Vinyled Love. We recently had a discussion about the project, and we came to the conclusion that I should review one of the unreleased songs and write my thoughts about it, to give the fans a taste of whats to come. I came into this track being pretty familiar with Christian’s music and I have considered myself a fan for about a year now, so I had an idea in my head as to what I was about to hear. I was wrong, very very wrong. I don’t even know how to start explaining this tune, it blew me away within the first thirty seconds. The beautiful, jazzy and soulful production on this track complimented her vocals perfectly, it truly lured you in and didn’t let you go until the very end. One thing that I believe she does exceptionally well with her music, and especially this single, is her ability to create music that literally makes you feel good, it brightens up your …

The 6 Page Letter – [Ausar Bradley]

Ausar Bradley just blessed the world with his brand new project titled “The 6 Page Letter.” I don’t even know where to start. This project, wow, man, this project, wow. I knew it was going to be good, I even knew it would be great, but this just flawless. This tape is a total of ten tracks in length, and contains some solids features from the likes of Femdot, Isaiah G, Plainro, Josi Green, Freejay, Leo Mantra, Christian Jalon, and last but certainly not least Ci La Cole. I’m at a loss for words, this project is unbelievably good. I’m not going to waste your time any longer, listen to it below & judge for yourself!

LL Presents: The Ausar Bradley Q&A

Another week, another brand new Q&A with one yet another one of Chicago’s most talented up and comers. This time around, I chopped it up with Ausar Bradley. Ausar caught my attention about a year ago when I listened to his debut project “Lazarus,” and I’ve been keeping up ever since. He’s really one of the most under rated new artists out, and he’s unique in the fact that he refuses to use profanity in his tracks, he keeps it all positive. Go ahead and learn some more about him below, and afterwards be sure to listen to his music here.   EM: Before we dive into the questions, give our readers that may not be familiar with you a brief introduction of yourself. AB: So, my full name is Ausar Bradley. I’m from Chicago, but I’m currently attending the University of Illinois in pursuit of a degree in Chemistry. I’ve been officially making music for about a year now, and my only project to date is called Lazarus, however I’m also working on another project entitled “The 6 Page Letter” currently. I belong to a collective called A.I.M. which stands for Artistically Intelligent Minds that consists of myself, Josi Green, and Plainro. Our overall …

ONE – [Jhon MyQuale] Ft. [Christian JaLon]

Jhon MyQuale is really doing his thing with the release of his latest track titled “ONE.” The self-produced track gives off the feel of Aaliyah’s song “One in a Million”, with a bit of Ciara’s “Body Party” as well. Lyrically, Jhon MyQuale seems to be reflecting on a new love interest in his life. He starts off with doubts about love in general, “I think love is a game that you don’t win,” he spits in altered voiced flows. However his new love also has him optimistic about the experience, he spoke “I love to touch, scandalous. I’m scared of love. But you the type to make me want to sit down and schedule it out,” Jhon vents as Christian LaJon comes in on the hook. Adding her gave the track an entirely new feel. Her milky tones over the beat makes it feel like a summer breeze of warmth and relief. Overall, this tracks gets me excited for Jhon’s next project that I hear is slated for an early 2016 release, but for now show the track some love and let us know what you think below.
