pushin P – [Gunna] Ft. [Future] & [Young Thug]

Gunna has been in the music scene for a handful of years at this point, but it is truly amazing to sit back and think about how hard he was grinding to get to this point. For me personally, it really wasn’t until “Drip Too Hard” went absolutely insane when I first truly paid attention to him, and I haven’t looked back ever since. He is one of my favorite Atlanta emcees for more reasons than I can count, and his albums are always nothing less than a spectacle. WUNNA is a project that I still listen to weekly, and when I finally had to chance to see him perform live at the Summer Smash last summer, my expectations were completely exceeded. Unsurprisingly, when he dropped his latest album DS4EVER last week, I couldn’t go a day without hearing how great the project was, but I knew this fact from the first chance I had to listen. Out of all of the incredibly diverse and immaculate songs on the album, though, I think a personal and fan favorite is undeniably “pushin P” which has become a trend that has caught fire on social media. After looking up what this phrase …

Know the Difference – [Icewear Vezzo] ft. [Lil Baby]

I’m so glad I got in on the booming Michigan rap scene as early as I did because it allowed me to follow along with all of these talented artists and see all the moves they made from very early on. While some artists have blown up more than others, Icewear Vezzo is no stranger to the spotlight, and I couldn’t be any happier for him. Still working with a plethora of Michigan artists to this day, he has secured features from artists like Future, Lil Durk, and Lil Yachty, amongst others, and while these might be some names to compete with on a song, he never lets them overshadow him even slightly, coming to the studio with his game face on and killing every verse he spits. Luckily, he’s back and better than ever on his song “Know the Difference”, a track that he recruits another huge name in Lil Baby for, and this duo is a tag team that I definitely need to hear more from moving forward. Produced by Celo Beatz and Bay G, things open up with a menacing piano melody that is eventually elevated through thumping 808s and piercing percussion that is an instrumental more …

Man of My Word – [Lil Durk] & [Lil Baby]

When talking about Lil Durk and Lil Baby, it shouldn’t shock anyone when I say that they’re two of the biggest artists coming out of their respective cities. Durk has been a key role in beginning an entirely new subgenre for close to a decade in Chicago, and while Baby has been doing his thing for a bit less time, it’s safe to say that he’s a superstar in his own right. That’s why, when the two decided to team up for their collaborative project called The Voice of the Heroes just a few weeks ago, I couldn’t have been more excited. My excitement has only continued to grow since then, and I was pumped to see them drop a brand-new music video for their incredible song “Man of My Word”, directed by Caleb Jermale. As it begins, Durk and Baby hop into their extremely cool-looking and presumably expensive whip, peeling off into the street as a spotlight shows them on their way. Behind them, a group of about 5 or 6 different cars zoom off in their rearview, trailing behind the two stars and bringing the rest of their crew along for the wild night they have ahead. While …
