Legendary record label Def Jam just dropped the highly-anticipated compilation album featuring all of their rising talent entitled Undisputed. I believe one of the hardest things to do as a label is to break a bunch of new artists you just brought on board, so with that said, I love the idea of a compilation project to showcase new talent, especially as a music lover who is always looking to discover emerging talent. In my opinion, the artists that stood above the rest on this album were Bernard Jabs, TJ Porter, YK Osiris, Dominic Lord, and Nimic Revenue. YK Osiris currently is shining the brightest out of this new crop of rappers as of late, with his infectious single “Worth It” taking the Billboard charts by storm. I expect to see a lot more of these compilation album roll out methods with other labels, both major and indie, as the year moves along, so props to Def Jam for executing this method of promotion remarkably well with Undisputed!
