HELLSING – [ITSOKTOCRY]

If there’s one artist in the. Underground that I think has been consistently making some of the best music in the entire world for years and years, it has to be ITSOKTOCRY. The Denver native has not only created an insane legacy by himself, but he has aligned himself with such a dexterous group of other artists that it seems like there’s nothing he can’t do if he puts his mind to it. I legitimately never get even remotely tired of hearing any of his songs, and this is mainly due to the fact that his voice is so pliable that he can make any sound he wants, reminding me of an almost more versatile Young Thug which is as high as my praise can get.

Although there has been a brief hiatus since he dropped new music considering he was putting in work on the music video front to continue to promote his unbelievable project Poshboy 2, he decided to bring that break to an end with the release of his latest record “HELLSING”, and it’s even better than I could have ever anticipated. Produced by neet.ro and 1177, our ears are met with some mischievous, Dracula-like synths that are complemented by bouncy 808s and chattering percussion that is an unbelievable foundation for CRY to do his thing.

While it’s fairly intricate, it’s still minimalistic enough for him to be as dexterous as he can be, yet he seems to remain fairly tame when he first goes in to spit. Honestly, I got a sort of Carti from Whole Lotta Red vibe with his vocals, and there is a playful aggression that he puts into his delivery that is as captivating as I’ve ever heard. The beat even switches up a variety of times which CRY then follows along with and adapts to the different tempos and vibes, showing off his plethora of skills that are definitely one of his most underrated assets. Beyond this, some of his words are almost spat out of his mouth in a manner that sounds like he’s recording ad-libs as well as his main vocals, and even though my words don’t do this artistry nearly enough justice, it’s literally some of the most unique and inventive flows that I’ve ever heard in general, so they prove once again that CRY is honestly a one-of-a-kind artist that you really can’t sleep on any longer.

Although I’ve been following along with his career for quite a few years, it seems like he gets better and better and even grows as an artist with every new release. It’s also remarkable that he’s just such a humble, hard-working person because most people who have even a sliver of the talent he does let it go to their head and their egos grow mountainous even when they don’t deserve it. I can say wholeheartedly that CRY deserves all of the love he gets and an exponential amount more, but he’s going to keep grinding and working hard regardless, so his day one fans are going to continue to show him love no matter what. “HELLSING” is the name of ITSOKTOCRY’s latest release, and it’s definitely a song you’re not going to want to miss, so make sure you stop whatever you’re doing and tune in as soon as you possibly can.
