Disclaimer: ever since Kid Cudi teased this song on an IG Live with Rashida Jones (?? still waiting on why that happened) – I knew this was going to colonize my weekly rotation the minute it came out. I just had to check Google to learn that was over TWO (2) years ago? And here I am typing? Who else can do that but Kid Cudi?

Today our king returns with the long-awaited Take A Daytrip-produced  “Do What I Want” – a high-energy and cosmic banger from his forthcoming project Entergalactic. Cudi is also slated to release his animated series of the same name on the same day as the album, so perhaps it is safe to say that the young rager has been keeping himself busy lately. Despite juggling an animated series with collaborations from Nigo to Sonic the Hedgehog, “Do What I Want” is one of the most concentrated and polished releases since Cudi dropped MOTM:3. A master of media and a man of the people, Kid Cudi is always an artist that deserves to be on your radar – but perhaps more so now than ever before. Though a release date for the series and its eponymous album is still up in the air, Kid Cudi did describe Entergalactic as the “greatest piece of art” he’s ever made. Between that statement and “Do What I Want”, fans are in for a tough wait until Kid Cudi blesses us with more details.
